Ingredients
16 Baby Baby Dills
¼ cup packed brown sugar
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 slices hickory smoked bacon (not thick sliced)
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
¼ cup packed brown sugar
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 slices hickory smoked bacon (not thick sliced)
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Line the inside of a broiler pan with aluminum foil. Coat the tray of the broiler pan with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
Lay pickles out on a paper towel and pat dry.
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cayenne pepper and black pepper.
Arrange bacon, in one layer, on the prepared broiler pan. Brush top of each slice with maple syrup. Using half of the brown sugar mixture, sprinkle it evenly over the maple syrup on each slice.
Bake the bacon in preheated 375-degree oven for 15 minutes.
Remove pan from oven. Turn slices over. Brush each slice with remaining maple syrup and sprinkle with remaining brown sugar mixture.
Cut each slice in half creating two short pieces of bacon.
Turn each slice over again, with the newly brushed and sprinkled side down. Preparing one Baby in a Blanket at a time, place a Baby Baby Dill at a short end of one piece of bacon. Roll up and fasten with a wooden pick. Place back on the broiler pan. Repeat until all 16 Baby Dills have been rolled up.
Return pan to oven and bake Babies in a Hot Blanket for 15 to 20 minutes, until bacon is crisp and brown. Immediately transfer Babies in a Hot Blanket to serving plate. Allow to cool slightly before serving. They can be served warm or at room temperature. Makes 16.
